In this article, I want to discuss about the importance of the photographs of the products that we are selling on amazon or any other marketplaces like flipkart, snapdeal etc.

If we think normally, we can find out that how important is physical appearance of any product for a buyer. Sometimes, good photos can be a big factor of good sales and good customer reviews. If we consider ourself as customers then it is normal that when we go to a shop, we buy that product which one is look good. Always, physical appearance is a big factor for selling your products online or offline. I always suggest to maintain good appearance of the products whatever your product is.

Some points that should be remembered -

1. Take the photographs of your products under white light. Maintain proper amount of light to take the photos. White LED lights are the best for this purpose. I personally used it in my case. Good light always matters for good photography.

You can use a light box to get best result. You can purchase a light box online. It will cost around 1.5 K. You can make it yourself also. I will suggest you to buy a light box through online. Because you will get all the accessories that you will need for product photography along with the light box. You can take photos from front side or from upper side also.

2. You need to create white backgrounds for the photographs of your products. White background gives your product a distinct look. It will create attraction for the product. Some of the marketplaces take this condition as mandatory when listing products. Use white backgrounds inside the light box. After that, you will not get a perfect white background. To get a perfect one, you need to edit it under photoshop or any other photo editing software. Under photoshop, you can use the white balance option to create a perfect white background behind your product.

3. You should take photos of your product different angles instead of taking one or two photos. A customer should get the whole idea by observing the photos of your product. you may post 6/7/8 or more photos for each product. You also can post a video regarding your product. You need to click photos from upper angle, lower angle, right and left angles also. You also may click from other angles which will define the product better. In case of clothes like sarees, you should take the photos of all the parts of the saree like pallu, middle part etc. Thus a person may get the idea about the color, quality and overall look of the product.

4. In the time of creating the photographs of your products, you need to keep one thing in your mind. You should click the photos of minimum dimension of 1000px X 1000px. It is important to avail the magnify effect on the images of your products. If a customer hold the cursor on a part of the image, the part will become larger so that the detail of the image can be shown. Thus the customer will get satisfied about the color, quality and look of the product before placing the order. Thus your return rates will be decreased and you may earn more profit.

5. If you upload five images for a product, then you need assign one image as the main one. That main image will be shown to the customer on thumbnail when he/she will search for it. When they will open the product page, the main image will come first. So, the main image should be attractive. This is like the cover page of a book. You may add some attractive offers or items in the main image to give it an attractive look so that if a person look that then he/she would be bound to click on that. In this way, your sales may increase. For this purpose, you may use photoshop or any other good photo editing software.
